One of the easiest and most popular holiday decorating themes is that of classic red and white. Creating an eye catching red and white themed holiday display is easy when you implement some of the five simple ideas in this article.

Start with setting a festive table.

Prepare your dining room for a feast with table settings and decorations in berry red and white. Use a white table runner and sprinkle red foil stars confetti down the center of the table. For place settings try using white china adorned with a red pattern. Add bright red napkins to give your table a pop of color. For a festive twist, add bright red foil cracker favors so that each of your guests receive a surprise. Accent your table with bright red stemware to hold your favorite holiday drinks. Place silver candlesticks on the table to give your theme a bit of added sparkle and finish them off with brilliant red holiday taper candles. Create a focal point by hanging large red stars and white snowflakes directly above the table. This is an inexpensive way to brighten the room and amaze your dinner guests with an abundance of Christmas spirit!

Create a welcoming atmosphere with a decorated hallway.

To begin your holiday hallway transformation, clear your hall of all unnecessary clutter. Try adding a small console table with space available for storage baskets underneath. Decorate your staircase banister with a beautiful green holiday garland and accent with bright red ribbon and decorative bows. Add all red Christmas ornaments and artificial red berries for an additional color burst. Hang white Christmas stockings that are decorated in a coordinating red and green or display your holiday Christmas cards by hanging them on a beautiful strip of holiday ribbon.

For a different spin on hallway decorating, try giving your hall an instant festive style with mini trees, pretty decorations and beautifully wrapped gifts ready to hand out to visiting friends. Decorate the hallways in your home with mini evergreen Christmas trees and add simple red bows for a splash of color. Add wood Christmas letters that spell noel or other holiday words. Silver, white and red picture frames with precious family photos can be used as accent pieces on your table. Wrap gifts for your friends in bright red and white wrapping paper and add ribbon bows. Stack the gifts under the table to carry the decorating theme throughout your hallway.

Candle and floral displays set a warm and inviting tone to any holiday gathering.

Place a poinsettia wreath around a simple red hurricane lamp for a quick and simple table centerpiece. Use metallic silver Christmas balls and berry stems to accent. Add live red poinsettia plants throughout the house to carry your theme from room to room. Be sure to have your poinsettias wrapped in silver and white foil or paper so that they match the other Christmas decorations in your home.

Create a cozy living room, fit for a party.

Fill your living room with comfort and joy and pile up the soft throws and cushions so that the family can snuggle down in front of the fire. You will want to decorate your Christmas tree with red, white and silver balls and simple, elegant ornaments. Find a red star to top the tree that coordinates with the star theme that was used in the dining room. Add a decorative red Christmas light strand to a small evergreen garland. Place red poinsettias in white pots on either side of the fireplace mantel.

Any of these red and white Christmas decorating ideas would be elegant additions to your home décor this season!
